The Top100 Future Leaders competition allows you to represent your university in a national awards process that is published in the Australian Financial Review. The goal is to find the most promising leadership talent emerging from Australia’s universities and introduce them to Australia’s leading employers.
The Top100 is the brainchild of Australia’s leading student employment website GradConnection and is designed and delivered in partnership with Fusion Graduate Consultancy with the results covered in national media right before employers open their graduate programs for applications.
When you apply you will be taken through a market leading recruitment process designed by Fusion that will emulate the process Australia’s top graduate and internship employers use to find their future talent.
To be eligible for the competition you will need to be:
- studying towards a tertiary qualification in 2016 (your final year is 2016 or later)
- currently studying at an Australian University
- available to attend an assessment day and awards ceremony in Sydney on February 11th 2016. (In many cases your travel and accommodation costs will be covered by GradConnection and your University)
These awards were run for the first time in 2014 and are backed by some of Australia’s biggest and most respected graduate employers. Checkout the 2014 results here!
Finalists will be invited along to a black-tie awards evening at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney. Here they will get the chance to network with leaders from within their university as well as leaders and human resources professionals from over 50 different employers.

How it works
1. 1000's of Applications
Our goal is to have a large number of students from across Australia in a wide variety of disciplines enter these awards. You can select what awards you would like to be considered for based on the disciplines you have studied, the industries you are interested in and also what you may have achieved for yourself, for the community or something completely unrelated to your field of study.
The entry process will take around 20 minutes to complete, GradConnection and Fusion will decide who to invite to assessment centres.

2. Online Psychometric Testing
In the early stages of the selection process you may be asked to complete some online assessments (from Revelian) that are also used by many Australian employers on their graduate and internship programs.
It is important that you take these tests seriously and complete it them in a quiet environment, with 100% focus, because the responses you supply now will remain valid for 12 months. This means that if you apply to a graduate program (in the next 12 months) with any employer that uses Revelian assessments, you won’t have to complete the test again. The employer will just ask that you provide access to your test results.
The biggest advantage for you is that you only have to sit the test once, which will save you a lot of time and stress when it comes time to apply to your future employer.

3. Video Interview
Shortlisted graduates will then complete a short online video interview, delivered by Vieple. Their recorded responses to a series of competency-based interview questions will be rated and assessed by qualified screeners, to determine their suitability for the final stage of the process.
Check out the video below for more info on Vieple video interviewing.

4. Assessment Centre
The final stage of the selection process will be an Assessment Centre held on February 11, 2016, where the top 100 finalists will participate in a range of activities, designed by Fusion Graduate Consultancy to assess specific behavioural competencies. This will be a fun, interactive day in which our top 100 finalists will come face-to-face with leading graduate employers for the first time. They will participate in a range of group and individual activities throughout the day, and will have the opportunity to work with & get to know other accomplished graduates from across the country.
5. Awards Night
Universities, Employers, Graduate Industry Professionals and all of the Top100 finalists will have the chance to network at the black-tie awards night held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney on February the 11th 2016.
6. Australian Financial Review
On February the 22nd all finalists and winners will be published in the AFR in the education section. The winners of each award will be interviewed and profiled along with representatives from their university and the employers on the judging panel.
There will also be mention of the university that produced the most finalists and high achievers based on the total number of students enrolled. A feature your university would love to be mentioned in!
