Have you:

  • ever wondered where your studies are taking you?
  • ever considered where you might be working in 2, 5, 10, 30 years' time?
  • been nervous about speaking to a professional in your field?
  • been curious about what you could do to market yourself as employable?
  • HAD ALL OF THESE QUESTIONS .... OR MORE?

Then put your name down for the "Careers and Industry Mentoring Program”! We still have mentors who want to share with you what they've learned about career success and will be accepting Expressions of Interest until capacity is reached!

The program commences next month!! You must be in your second year or above of a Bachelor degree, or enrolled in a postgraduate program.

Simply put, mentoring is a learning relationship. Whether you are sure about where your studies are taking you or otherwise, over five meetings in this program, you can ask ALL THE QUESTIONS in a professional but informal setting. We need you to fill out some details about what you hope to get out of mentoring - this will help us to "match" you with a mentor.

What can you get out of the program?

Well, mentors can help students navigate their career paths by:

  • providing exclusive insight into their chosen industry,
  • increasing awareness of organisational values, expectations and business areas,
  • identifying the skills and experience desired in specific roles or industries,
  • communicating the realities of the workplace and industry,
  • increasing networking and workplace visit opportunities,
  • providing perspective on the job market and profession and how to position themselves in it effectively and
  • providing tips for making the transition from student to professional.

Through meeting with your mentor, you can develop their interpersonal skills, professional communication and emotional intelligence - qualities highly sought by employers. Visit our website for more information about the program.
