Places in Commonwealth Public Service Graduate Programs are amongst the most highly prized and eagerly sought ways to turn an undergraduate degree into a career.
And one of the most eagerly pursued, is a placement in the ATO’s graduate program.
The ATO’s Jeremy Moore says they’re one of the nation’s largest public sector employers, so the diversity of careers on offer is second to none.
“We’re not only looking for the leading undergraduates in accounting, business, commerce, economics and finance, we’re also kick-starting the careers of graduates in law, information technology, marketing communications, information and design.
“The ATO’s an interesting place to be, and it’s a place to be interesting.”
Jeremy says graduates get to see how their qualifications apply in both a work and career sense.
“It’s an intensive 12 month program which involves real diversity in work rotations to thoroughly develop your skills, while giving you the opportunity to explore different areas of interest.
“You’re assigned a program manager to support you, plus there are social and networking opportunities with current and former graduates.
“Add to that some of the most flexible working arrangements and a starting salary of around $58,000 and it becomes fairly clear why places are highly prized.
“Best of all, on successfully completing the program there’s a permanent position guaranteed, demonstrating we value our people and the skills they bring to us.”
