What is ‘Evolution at Arrium: The Graduate Talent Community’?

The Evolution is Arrium’s talent community for graduates and students, designed so that we have a network of informed, engaged candidates that we are able to consider for graduate roles as they become available. Evolution members will receive regular communication from the Entry Level Recruitment Team about the business, our programs and opportunities. The Evolution community will also be our pool of candidates from which we shortlist for graduate roles.

How do students get into the Evolution Talent Community? What is the process for applying?

Students will now be able to apply to join Evolution all year round! There will be a short selection process to get into the community (replacing the early stages of our previous Graduate Recruitment Process). If they are successful, they will be invited to be part of our revolution. Further detail regarding processes are in the attached document.

How do students apply for graduate roles with Arrium?

To be considered for graduate roles with Arrium, students will need to have been accepted into Evolution. This will then mean they are reviewed and considered for graduate roles as suitable positions become available, and may then go through the latter stages of the recruitment process. Further detail regarding processes are in the attached document.

When can students apply to Evolution?

Evolution launched on Friday 20 February, so they can apply any time. It will stay open all year round, so that we can be responsive to both our business requirements and to the availability of the best graduate talent.

Please note – whilst some graduate recruitment activity may occur during the traditional Graduate Recruitment period of March - May, we do have roles come up outside these times. That’s why applications to join Evolution are going to be open all year round!

Who can apply to Evolution?

To apply to evolution, you need to be:

  • An Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (or NZ citizen)
  • Studying (or studied) at an Australian (or New Zealand) University
  • In your penultimate or final year of study, or have graduated in the last 2 years
  • Studying one of the following streams:

−Chemical Engineering

−Electrical Engineering

−Geology

−Mechanical Engineering

−Metallurgy

−Mining Engineering

−Surveying

Do students automatically get into Evolution?

Unfortunately, we can’t take everyone into Evolution. Given it’s a pipeline and talent community for graduate roles, we do have a short selection process to get into Evolution, replacing the first stages of our previous Graduate Recruitment Process.
